The Sumner Cafe

I've eaten there quite a few times. I've ALWAYS found the food to be quite good and unlike a previous review - I've found the service to be friendly and excellent. Frankly, I found the previous reviewer to be rude and inconsiderate (shouldn't refer to people's stature/weight - WHY??).I'm a repeat customer and have known many locals who frequent the establishment on a daily/weekly basis. Good food for reasonable prices. Great deals as well. Soups and sandwiches only - don't expect fries or other grilled food items. Everytime I've been there, the place is fairly full and a lot of walk ins (who seem to be 'regulars') frequent the restaurant. Decor is just ok - nothing special but then, I really don't care about it. Restaurant was clean and simple - I don't need ultra fancy for lunch and frankly, don't want to pay for it either!I highly recommend.

Love the food. Mostly had their breakfast, but recently had food from the lunch menu as well. Even left with a delicious rhubarb crisp dessert.

A small group of us went for breakfast at opening time. Eggs were perfect, biscuits and gravy were delicious, hashbrowns just right. Kudos to the very pleasant owner/baker/chef.
